Abstract

The final target of the blasting plan is to increase the depth of the drill hole which was initially 4 m to 8 m. This is in accordance with the ability of the Liebherr 996 and Hitachi EX3600 diggers located in Pit Pinang South. And PT. Kaltim Prima Coal has a standard for the value of PPV (Peak Particle Velocity) which is 3 mm / s. Based on observations in Pit Pinang South, at a distance of 600 m and 700 m from the ground vibration observation point the depth of the drill hole is 4 m deep with 48 kg explosive filling to produce the desired fragmentation and produce PPV values below 3 mm / s. After analyzing the scaled distance formula the results obtained are for a distance of 600 maximum contents of explosives is 84 kg and for a distance of 700 m the maximum content of explosives is 115 kg. So with the double decking method, the drill hole depth can be increased to 8 m and reducing explosive fill per delay or explosive filling will be the same as the 4 m drill hole depth. Because the double decking method divides 8 m into 4 m bottom and top each has a detonator. So that the PPV value produced is below 3 mm / s. After the recommendation was obtained, an experiment was carried out at a distance of 600 m and 700 m using the double decking method at the depth of the drill hole 8 m and the results of all experiments produced PPV below 3 mm / s.
