Abstract

PT. Bukit Asam (Persero) Tbk. is a state-owned company (BUMN) which is a company in the coal mining sector located in Muara Enim Regency, South Sumatra Province. Groundwater level monitoring activities at PT. Bukit Asam has not been carried out optimally, the last being carried out in September 2019 for inclinometer measurements and piezometer measurements in January 2020. The slopes studied were high wall and low wall slopes in sections AA`, BB` and CC`. The purpose of this study was to determine the elevation of the groundwater level and the effect of the groundwater level so that it can determine whether a slope is stable or not which is expressed in terms of the value of the safety factor. Slope stability analysis was carried out under conditions of actual, saturated and dry groundwater level variations in the 2020 RKAP using the boundary balance method (morgenstren-price) with Geostudio 2012 software (license Number: 962E1F750 an. PT. Bukit Asam, Tbk)Based on the analysis, it is known that high wall and low wall slopes are categorized as safe in every groundwater level with a slope safety factor ≥1.1 except for high wall slopes in section AA` in saturated conditions. For this reason, it is necessary to slope the geometry of the high wall section AA` to obtain a safe and permitted safety factor.
