Abstract

B03ed on the research, indicates that Bengawan Solo river had ever flowed to the south empties into Hindia
Ocean at Early Quartenary. Bentawan Solo streaming flow before reach the Giritirto valley, some of it's watercourses thai caming from Old Mountain slope {Tertiary) would empties into Baturetno Lake, which it's stands 03 base
level erosions temporarily for drainage system at Bengawan Solo upstream.
Change of Bengawan Solo's streaming flow, was caused by tectonic activity that occurred at the Middle
Pteistosen period. due to increased intensity of South Mountain uplift followed by some faults formed that cur the Balure/no basin, which the north block move 10 downward relatively to the south block of it's fault. Tectonic process
which is followed by faulting caused some of Bengawan Solo's watercourses stream flow were changed, it 's flow
through the new fault structure zone. At the same time, Old Lawu volcano erupted. partly of it's explosion matter was
deposited and stemmed nort a part of Baturetno basin. It's stemming process caused overwhelming swamp W03
formed widely in Baturetno Basin, left the trace such as black claystone which is spreaded widely, deposited overlying
on lake deposit and tuff deposit of Old Lawu volcano's product. .
Tectonic process and Old Lawu volcanic activities, due to The Bengawan solo didn't stream into southward.
But, streamed of north direction of Baturetno basin "outlet" • while eroded Old Lawu deposit, then stream through
Solo plain, and finally stream to northward and empties into Java Sea untill present.
