Abstract

ABSTRACT Along with the increase of population and and increasing the need of the water led to declining ground water quality, the presence of pollutants contained in ground water cause of various diseases which dangerous to human life and other living creatures. Reduction in groundwater quality can be caused by several things. Septic tank seepage, seepage flow of contaminated surface water, rubbish dumps, or spillage of contaminants (Notodarmojo, 2005). In addition, other factors that could influence the water quality is the slope of the groundwater, climatic conditions, type of rock, soil type, the vegetation, time and the activities carried out by humans. Trisik beach stretches from west to east along the 2.4 km. This beach was opened as a tourist area since 1987 and visited by people from the 1992. Efforts to increase the attractiveness of tourism and local economy made by the operation of a motor boat (1997) and the construction of TPI (fish auction place) (2000). However, erosion due to overflow of the Progo (1999) causing changes in the region, which is the loss of some tourist sites. Government subsequently built a stone dam to prevent erosion is more severe (2002). The construction of the dam causing the stagnant water to form a lake. The research method used is the method of survey methods and laboratory analysis. As parameters used are content analysis of temperature, TSS, Turbidity, Ammonia (NH3), chlorine (Cl2), pH, BOD and COD. Which is then analyzed by KEPMENKES RI NO.492/MENKES/PER/IV of 2010 on the terms of the determination of the quality of drinking water and Yogyakarta Governor Regulation No. 20 of 2008 on Water Quality Standards in Yogyakarta Special Province. The sampling carried out in ground water, and lake water. Based on the results of measurements and laboratory test results for the analysis of the temperature ranges between 24oC - 28oC is in accordance with quality standard. For the levels of chlorine (Cl2) between 0.11 mg/l to 1.16 mg/ll and the two lake water levels ranged from 1.13 mg/l - 1.86 mg/l. For the the lake water and the ground water is inappropriate for consumption because it exceeded the quality standard. For the levels of ammonia (NH3) to the ground water ranged from 0.08 mg/l - 3.18 mg/l and the lake water is 2.08 mg/l. For the the ground water is not all that exceeds the threshold. Only the quality of water around the pollutant source area is more higher, however for the lake water was above the maximum threshold of water quality standards Keyword : Groundwater, Wastewater contamination, Trisik beach.
