Abstract
PT.AlliedIndoCoalJaya(PTAICJ)ParambahanMiningUnitisone of thecompanyof coalmining foreign privateparties in West Sumatra.Areaof PT.AICJ formregionsCoal MiningCompanyAgreement(PKP2B) covering anarea of747hectares locatedwithin theMiningPermit ofPT.Bukit AsamOmbilinMiningUnit (PTBA-UPO), it is located at100 047 'E-100 049' Eand0035'30"LS-0037 'LS.The mine is locatedSawahluntowithin90 km fromthe city ofPadang.PT.AICJconduct miningwithunderground minesystem and the methodisroom andpillar.In themining activitieswouldresulttheopening holesthat is notused,whichcould result inamethanegasdepositsandhas the potential dangers of the mineblast.So it is necessaryforclosing the opening holes, subsequent study of ventilation networks because there is achange of air flow.Besides thedust isalsoa problem thatmust be addressedso that theperformanceand health ofthe workerscanbeoptimal.According to analysiscarried out for the quantityof air taken into themines is133.564,66cfmwhileonly17.225,74cfmair requirements,so the air is said tobe fulfilled.While thecoalbinareahas the highestconcentration ofdust is 2.3mg/m 3 ,this is because in thecoalbinarea is a source ofdust thatalways takes placeduring theaccumulationaf the coal.Itis necessary for efforts to dilution of dust with auxiliary fan(exhaust fan) and alsosprinklingwater upon the accumulation of coal in thecoal bin in order to reduce theconcentration of dust in the area. For the temperature meets the criteria set by thegovernment through theminister of minesand energydecisionno.555/K/26/M.PE/1995.
