The strategic management process can be described as an objective, logical, systematic approach for making mayor decisions in an organization. The goal of developing a strategic plan is to create for small business a competitive advantage. Small and medium businesses need a strategic formulation process designed to suit their particular needs. Most firms face external environment that are growing more turbulent, complex, and global conditions that make interpretation increasingly difficult. To cope with what are often ambiguous and incomplete environmental data and to increase their understanding of general environment, successful firms engage in a process called external environmental. The microanalysis focuses on examining the location, the local community. The micro analysis is directed toward the community where the venture is to be launched. Examining the community location as a means to gather information regarding the eventual market. This paper investigates strategic step of assessing external environment in smalls and medium enterprises.
