Abstract

ABSTRACT. A study was conducted to designed top air deck blast hole geometry based on value of optimum air deck factor (ADF). Value of ADF was evaluated on the influence of Passing 50 (P50) fragmentation and digging time in claystone overburden blasting. Based on observation of top air deck method found the problem about fragmentation product from blasting is not optimum. Average of P50 fragmentation size is 546 mm and digging time is 14,03 second. Improving rock P50 fragmentation used top air deck blast hole geometry recomendation based on value of ADF 0,122 which produce P50 fragmentation is 244,92 mm and digging time is 10,25 second. Blast hole geometry design recomendation to get good fragmentation is hole depth 5 – 8 m, stemming 2,20 – 3,24 m, weight of explosive 64 – 110 kg, powder charge 2,20 – 3,24 m and air deck length (ADL) 0,34 – 0,59 m. Keywords : air deck factor, digging time, P50 fragmentation, top air deck geometry RINGKASAN Penelitian dilakukan untuk merancang geometri lubang ledak top air deck berdasarkan nilai air deck factor (ADF) optimalnya. Nilai ADF dievaluasi berdasarkan pengaruhnya terhadap fragmentasi batuan Passing 50 (P50) dan digging time alat muat pada peledakan overburden batulempung. Berdasarkan observasi pada metode top air deck ditemukan permasalahan terhadap hasil fragmentasi yang belum sesuai kriteria dengan rata-rata fragmentasi P50 adalah 546 mm dan digging time alat muat 14,03 detik. Untuk mereduksi fragmentasi P50 batuan diterapkan usulan geometri lubang ledak top air deck berdasarkan nilai ADF 0,122 yang menghasilkan fragmentasi P50 244,92 mm dan digging time 10,25 detik. Rancangan geometri lubang ledak yang menjadi usulan perbaikan fragmentasi adalah kedalaman lubang ledak 5 – 8 m, stemming 2,20 – 3,24 m, berat bahan peledak 64 – 110 kg, powder charge 2,44 – 4,20 m dan tinggi kolom air deck (ADL) 0,34 – 0,59 m.
