ABSTRAK

Tanaman terung merupakan sayuran yang banyak diminati masyarakat.
Penggunaan pupuk kimia oleh petani merupakann salah satu sebab menurunnya
hasil tanaman terung tiap tahunnya. Salah satu upaya peningkatan hasil tanaman
terung adalah dengan mengaplikasikan pupuk organik. Media tanam organik
dapat memanfaatkan limbah di sekeliling rumah yang mudah didapat misalnya
pupuk kandang sapi, kompos daun, dan arang sekam. Pengembangan dalam
pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman terung juga dapat menggunakan aplikasi PGPR
(Plant Grow Promoting Rizhobacteria). Peningkatan hasil juga dapat dilakukan
dengan memanfaatkan lahan pekarangan yaitu dengan menggunakan polibag.
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memperoleh macam media tanam dan frekuensi
pemberian PGPR yang paling baik untuk pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman terung.
Metode penelitian menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) faktorial
dengan pola dua faktor. Faktor pertama adalah macam media tanam yang terdiri
dari tiga aras yaitu M1 = Media tanam kompos dengan tanah perbandingan 1 : 1;
M2 = Media tanam arang sekam dengan tanah perbandingan 1 : 1; M3 = Media
tanam pupuk kandang sapi dengan tanah perbandingan 1 : 1. Faktor kedua adalah
frekuensi pemberian PGPR dengan konsentrasi 10 mL/L yang terdiri atas empat
aras yaitu P0 = tanpa pemberian PGPR; P1 = 1 minggu sekali; P2 = 2 minggu
sekali; P3 = 3 minggu sekali. Data hasil pengamatan dianalisis keragamannya
menggunakan analisis varian (ANOVA) dan dilakukan uji lanjut menggunakan
Uji Jarak Berganda Duncan pada jenjang 5%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan
bahwa terdapat interaksi pengaruh perlakuan macam media tanam dengan
frekuensi pemberian PGPR terhadap pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman terung
(Solanum Melongena L.) dalam polibag. Kombinasi perlakuan M3P2 (pupuk
kandang dan frekuensi pemberian PGPR 2 minggu sekali) menunjukkan hasil
tertinggi pada parameter tinggi tanaman 16 HST, 24 HST, 32 HST, diameter
batang 16 HST, 24 HST, 32 HST, jumlah daun 16 HST, 24 HST, 32 HST, waktu
muncul bunga, umur waktu panen, selisih waktu panen, diameter buah, panjang
buah, jumlah buah, bobot per buah.

THE EFFECT KINDS OF PLANTING MEDIA AND THE FREQUENCY
OF APPLICATION PLANT GROWTH PROMOTING RHIZOBACTERIA
(PGPR) AGAINST GROWTH AND PRODUCTS OF EGGPLANT
(Solanum melongena L.) IN A POLIBAG

ABSTRACT

Eggplant is a vegetable that is great in demand by the public. Using
chemical fertilizers by farmers is one of the reasons for the eggplant yields
decrease every year. One of the efort to increase eggplant yield is by applying
organic fertilizers. Organic planting media can take advantage and easily obtain
from household waste, such as cow manure, leaf compost, and husk charcoal.
Developing of the growth and yield of eggplant plants can also use the PGPR
(Plant Grow Promoting Rizhobacteriaapplication). Increasing yield also can be
done by utilizing the yard area, that is using polybags. This research aimed to
found the best planting media and the provision frequency of PGPR for the
growth and yield of eggplant. The research method used factorial Completely
Randomized Design (CRD) with a two-factor pattern. The first factor is the type
of planting medium which consists of three levels, namely M1 = media for
planting compost with soil ratio of 1: 1; M2 = Media for planting husk charcoal
with soil ratio 1: 1; M3 = Media for planting cow manure with soil ratio of 1: 1.
The second factor is the frequency of PGPR with a concentration of 10 mL / L
which consists of four levels, namely P0 = without giving PGPR; P1 = once a
week; P2 = once every 2 weeks; P3 = once every 3 weeks. The observed data are
analyzed for their diversity using analysis of variance (ANOVA) and further tests
are carried out using Duncan's Multiple Range Test at the 5% level. The results
showed that there is an interaction effect of the type of planting medium with the
frequency of PGPR on the growth and yield of eggplant (Solanum Melongena L.)
in polibags. The combination of M3P2 treatment (manure and the frequency of
giving PGPR every 2 weeks) showed the highest yields on the parameters of plant
height 16 DAP, 24 DAP, 32 DAP, stem diameter 16 DAP, 24 DAP, 32 DAP,
number of leaves 16 DAP, 24 DAP, 32. DAP, time of flower emergence, age at
harvest time, difference in harvest time, fruit diameter, fruit length, number of
fruits, weight per fruit.
