Abstract

The resarch is experimental case study in Poncosari village, Srandakan, Bantul, Yogyakarta which is aconservation area of bioenergy. Results of analysis using a gas chromatograph showed biogas containing52.642% CH4 and 30.365% CO2 prior treatment The results of tests using dietylene glycol content of 90% by15 ml obtained 0.1428% volume H2O. H2O and CO2 content affects the quality of biogas especially physicalproperties and chemical properties. To improve the quality of the gas then designed a CO2 and H2O removalunit processing prototype. CO2 and H2O removal processing uses the concept of sweetening process anddehydration process. The component in prototype consists of a tube reactor, chemical injectioninstrumentation, heater, cooler and pump thus forming a closed circuit system. NaOH is used and tested atconcentration of 10% and 30% for sweetening process while dehydration dietylene glycol concentration of90% is used for dehydration process. Chemical injected using a compressor which is set at a pressure of 25 psito the reactor tube with injection duration for 10 seconds and a delay of 2 seconds. The out gas from the reactoranalyzed using gas chromatograph. The results showed the levels of CH4 is increasing until 94,198% and CO2is decreasing until 1,344% using NaOH with 30% concentration.
