Abstract

Biomechanical Analysis of Stroke Rate and Stroke Length in Swimming. This study aims to find the optimum combination of parameters standard stroke rate (SR) and stroke length (SL) in swimming and to know between SR and SL the most influence on speed in swimming races of the Tenth National Student Sports Games in Yogyakarta. This research is a descriptive survey method and measurements using biomechanical analysis. Subjects in this study were all swimming athletes National Student Sports Week participants who managed to get into the final round (8 large) in the 28 race number. Biomechanical analysis was performed using Kinovea program assistance. Stroke Rate is calculated backstroke 50m men’s, 50m, 100m and 200m women's and in the breaststroke just 50m women’s. While on the other race numbers Stroke Length most influential. Keywords: stroke rate, stroke length, speed
