Abstract

The vision of tourism development in Yogyakarta Special Region (DIY) is to make DIY as a leading cultural tourism destination in Southeast Asia, international standard, competitive and sustainable.This research is to explore tourism in DIY which is seen from the number of tourists visit both foreign tourists and domestic tourists to DIY and analyze tourist destination of each of the tourists who are interested during a tour in DIY. This research is a descriptive research using primary and secondary data. The data used in this study includes secondary data on the number of DIY tourist visits collected from 2010-2016. Primary data obtained by conducting structured interviews on tourists who come to Yogyakarta. Number of respondents 100 people. The sampling technique uses convenience sampling. Data analysis is done descriptively to describe some characteristics of tourists who visit to DIY. Data analysis is done descriptively to describe some characteristics of tourists who visit to DIY. The results showed that the condition of tourism objects in Yogyakarta is quite potential to be developed and marketed for both foreign tourists and domestic tourists, because DIY has many attractions that are quite a lot and varied.
