Abstract

The study was conducted in Guwosari Village, Pajangan District, Bantul Regency, Special Province of Yogyakarta. Limestone mining in Guosari Village is community mining using quarry. Mining activities by the people have caused loss of vegetation, changes in landforms and loss of shoot tops. This change has led to a plan for mining land management in accordance with the Bantul Regency RTRW. The research objective is to determine the ability of horticultural land use and determine the direction of mining land management in accordance with the ability of land in the study area The methods used in this study are (1) survey and mapping methods, (2) purposive sampling method, (3) land capability enhancement method, (4) laboratory analysis method, (5) interview method. Land capability criteria used for horticultural agriculture are: (1) soil texture, (2) soil permeability, (3) slope, (4) erosion conditions, (4) drainage conditions, (5) large surface rock distribution, (6) small surface rock distribution, (7) flood hazard, (8) depth of soil effectiveness. Mining areas that need management are divided into classes II, III and IV. Moderate and somewhat ugly, and require slope conservation with technical reclamation models used by terraces with 3 meters of height, 6 meters of terrace width with level geometry 1: 1 (different height and width of the terrace) and the slope angle of 45˚. Management of plant root and erosion problems is used biotic reclamation, the process of reclaiming plant root problems by revegetation, using vetiver and bahia grass plants where these types of grass have very effective roots to control erosion, surface water flow and land rehabilitation. The spacing of vetiver grass is 20 x 10 cm and the distance between strips is 80 cm, and the planting of bahia grass cover crop is between the strips with dimensions of 10 x 10 cm.
