Abstract
Peristiwa bunuh diri yang terjadi sering diberitakan dalam media massa khususnya surat kabar. Peristiwa bunuh diri memiliki nilai berita tersendiri sehingga layak untuk dihadirkan informasi kepada khalayak. Namun, dalam proses mendapatkan hingga memuatnya menjadi berita surat kabar perlu memperhatikan beberapa hal. SKH Kompas sebagai salah satu surat kabar nasional turut memberitakan peristiwa-peristiwa bunuh diri. Dalam penelitian yang berjudul Analisis Isi Pemberitaan Bunuh Diri dalam Surat Kabar Harian Kompas Periode 1 Mei 2018 – 31 Agustus 2018 ini memiliki rumusan masalah “Bagaimana isi pemberitaan bunuh diri dalam Surat Kabar Harian Kompas periode 1 Mei 2018 – 31 Agustus 2018?”. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kuantitatif dengan jenis analisis isi. Teori yang digunakan adalah teori tanggung jawab sosial dengan konsep mengenai jurnalisme empati. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa pemberitaan tentang peristiwa bunuh diri di dalam SKH Kompas didominasi dengan narasmber kombinasi, jenis berita hardnews, akurasi nya tidak ada pencampuran fakta dan opini, imparsialitasnya tidak seimbang, jenis kelamin pelaku yang tidak disebutkan, usia pelaku bunuh diri yang tidak disebutkan, cara bunuh diri menggunakan bahan peledak, lokasi bunuh diri di ruang publik, cakupan wilayah nasional, keyakxiiinan sebagai salah satu faktor pemicu bunuh diri, kombinasi korban yakni diri sendiri dan orang lain, dan terakhir akibat yang ditimbulkan adalah kombinasi fisik dan non fisik. Kata Kunci : Berita bunuh diri, SKH Kompas, Analisis isi, Jurnalisme empati, Teori Tanggung Jawab Sosial. ABSTRACT The suicide is often reporte in the mass media, especially in newspaper. Suicide have their own news value so it deserves to be informed to the audience. However, in the process of getting it to public into news in newspaper need more attention for some things. Kompas Daily Newspaper as one of the national newspaper also reported on suicides. In the study entitled Analyis of The Content of Suicide in Kompas Daily Newspaper periode 1 May 2018 – 31 August 2018 has research question “how the contents of the news suicide in a Kompas Daily Newspaper in the period 1 May 2018 – 31 August 2018. This study uses quantitative content analysis methods. The theory used is the theory of social responsibility with the concept is empathy journalism. The results showed that Kompas Daily Newspaper dominated with combination source, the news type is hardnews, the accuracy is no mixing of facts and opinions, The impartiality is unbalanced, the unspecified age of suicide perpetrators, the way of suicide with explosives material, the location of suicide in public areas, the territory is in national, the belief as one of the factors that trigger suicide, tha combination of victims that themselves and others people, then the impact is a combination of physical and non-physical.
