Abstract
The impact of CVPD infected Siem citrus on the behavior of D. citri was studied based on cohorts in the laboratory and observation in the citrus plantation. Two cohorts were cultured on CVPD infected, and uninfected citrus, each cohort consisted of 150 nymphs of fourth instar. Observation was conducted on 15 vegetative twigs and 30 generative twigs. The existence of the psyllids canopy was not significantly affected by CVPD. Eggs were only found on shoots. Nymps were found on shoots, young leave, and majority found significantly on developed shoots and petiolus. Adults were found on shoots, young leave, and majority found significantly on old leaves. Fruit, flower, and flower buds were not attacked by psyllids. Daily activity pattern of psyllids was not significantly affected by CVPD. At noon, the adults move from upper surface to the petiolus and lower surface of leaves.
