Abstract
ABSTRACT PT. Gorby Putra Utama is one of the companies engaged in coal mining, the mining location is located in North Musirawas, South Sumatra Province. The mining system implemented by the company is an open pit mining system. Target mining plan planned by PT. Gorby Putra Utama 2,000,000 tons / year. The problem experienced by the company is uncontrolled changes in the total moisture value that occurs during the initial mining in the coal pit to the port. This can occur due to several factors that make the total moisture value change from the pit to when it will be transported to the barge at the port. Efforts that can be made to maintain the value of total moisture to the port are to pay attention to the condition of the coal well up to the port. The biggest change in total moistures is in stockpiles so it needs to be to minimize of risk that make increase in total moistures value.
