Abstract

Indonesia as the member of Association of South East Asia nation ( ASEAN ), by the end of the year 2015 will be involved in the Asean Economic Community ( AEC ), which aim to create a tarrif free zone while setting a timetable for removal off non tarrif arriers across the region. From foreign investor’s point of view the main opportunity from the launching of the AEC is that tariffs on goods and services will in theory be limited to those imported from outside the ASEAN region . The aim of this study is to analyze the factors that affect the portofolio investment in Indonesia , which is the main component of private investment. Quartally data have been taken from the period of 2004.I – 2014.IV. This study employ the Multipe Regression with the Ordinary Least Square Method . Portofolio Investment have been taken as the dependent variable, and the Gross Domestic Product , Inflation and The Exchange Rate have been taken as the Independent Variables. Tis study concludes that Gross Domestic Product has the positive and significant influence to the Portfolio Investment, while the inflation has a negative and significant influence, and so does the exchange rate.
