Abstract

The top soil loss will affect the level of soil quality, especially C levels and soil cation exchange capacity. The top soil is a soil layer rich in soil organic matter. The loss of soil above affects soil damage so that the development of plant roots is limited. Inceptisol is a land that is dominated by the sand fraction so it is very sensitive to leaching and loss of plants nutrients. The aim of the study was to determine the effect of ameliorants and organic waste materials on C availability and cation exchange capacity for preparation of rice cultivation. The material used is coconut shell biochar and organik matter of cow dung with a dose of o tons per hectare, 10 tons per hectare, 15 tons per hectare, and 20 tons per hectare and incubated on the ground at 0 months, 1 month, 2 month and 3 month. The results show that biochar treatment and organic matter improved the soil environment the soil environment. The use of coconut the cation exchange capacity in Inceptisol soil 10.86 cmol(+) kg-1. Whereas organic C levels of coconut shell biochar treatment at a dose of 15 tons per hectare with months incubation can increase organic C levels to 0.78%. This is use better than the treatment on manure and sugarcane waste. Keyword: Coconut Biochar, Decompositition, Inceptisol, Organic matter and Waste Organic.
