Abstract
ABSTRACT The research aims to understand the erosion level with problem formulation as followed (1) Understand the type of erosion (2) calculated the erosion occurred (3) determine the management that accurred to over come erosion that occurred (4) mapping the erosion that and map overlay method. Research area was conducted in the reclamation area PT. Kaltim Prima Coal wich located in the sub-district of North Sangatta, East Kutai Regency, East Kalimantan the research aims to determine the amount of land which is eroded in re -vegetationland, and the management of erosion inre-vegetation lang is to determine the amount of erosion and the run off that occurred in the re-vegetation land. Small plots were made on two location which have diffrent vegetation ang in the same slope. Meansurement do seven o’clock by meansurement high water in the tank and calculate of soil in the tank and then calculated by small plots method. Both location are a good swampy the overground by cover crop vegetation and the swampy that not overground by cover crop. Based on the calculation of erosion and the run off for both location, than higgest erosion result was of time in swampy with the size of 177,84 ton/ha/years and rawa indah 1,31 ton/ha/years. Mechanical method and vegetation method can be apply to over come erosion which occurred in the reclamation land. Keywords : Erosion , Small Plots INTISARI Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui tingkat erosi dengan rumusan masalah (1) Mengetahui jenis erosi (2) Menghitung besar erosi yang terjadi pada lahan reklamasi (3) Menentukan pengelolaan yang tepat untuk mengatasi erosi yang terjadi (4) Memetakan erosi yang terjadi. Metode yang digunakan yaitu metode survey, metode petak kecil, metode analisis laboratorium, dan metode overlay peta. Daerah penelitian di lakukan di lahan reklamasi PT. Kaltim Prima Coal yang terletak pada kecamatan Sangatta Utara, Kabupaten Kutai Timur, Kalimantan Timur. Penelitian yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui jumlah tanah yang tererosi pada lahan revegetasi dan pengelolaan yang dapat diterapkan untuk mengatasi erosi yang terjadi. Penggunaan petak kecil dalam pengukuran erosi pada lahan revegetasi bertujuan untuk mengetahui jumlah erosi dan aliran permukaan (Run Off) yang terjadi pada lahan revetasi tersebut. Metode petak kecil digunakan dalam satu kali kejadian hujan dengan pengambilan data sebanyak 6 kali pada bulan juni. Pengkuruan dilakukan jam 7 pagi dengan mengukur tinggi air didalam bak penampung dan menghitung jumlah tanah basah yang tertampung kemudian angka tersebut dimasukan kedalam rumus metode petak kecil. Petak kecil dibuat pada dua tempat yang memiiki vegetasi yang berbeda dan kemiringan lereng yang sama. Kedua lokasi tersebut rawa indah dengan ditumbuhi vegetasi Cover Crop dan swampy yang belum ditumbuhi Cover Crop. Cover crop adalah suatu tanaman yang tumbuh rapat yang ditanam terutama untuk tujuan melindungi dan memperbaiki tanah antara periode- periode produksi tanaman pokok atau antara pohon-pohon dan tanaman merambat. Berdasarkan hasil perhitungan dari erosi tanah maka diperoleh hasil erosi pada pit Swampy dengan kemiringan lereng 16% diperoleh hasil erosi 117,84 ton/ha/tahun termasuk dalam katagori sedang, sedangkan pada pit rawa indah dengan kemiringan lerang 14% diperoleh hasil erosi 1,31 ton/ha termasuk dalam kategori sangat rendah, perbedaan nilai erosi dipengaruhi oleh keberadaan cover crop dan vegetasi. Pengelolaan yang dapat dilakukan dengan membuat teras pada lokasi swampy dan segera menanami cover crop dan untuk lokasi rawa indah segera melakukan penyulaman pada tanaman yang rusak atau mati.
