Abstract
Workplace safety and health is a well-managed attempt to prevent the workplace injured and illness. Workplace safety and health becomes a significant thing and needs to be noticed by companies as the existence of a health and safety assurance improves the employee performances. In doing the mining activity it is obliged to obey the safety regulations from the Directorate General of Geology and Mineral Resources, the workplace safety regulations from the government. Therefore, there is a study regarding the workplace safety and health in andesite stone mining at PT Arga Wastu in Sanetan Village, Sluke, Rembang. The primary goal of this study is to calculate the number of FR and SR, to analyze and evaluate the causes of workplace accidents, as well as evaluate the performance of the workplace safety and health management. The biggest potential of workplace accident is in the loading area. It is an accident-prone zone as it is unsafe due to the lack of safety sign and unsafe work acts like many workers who ignore self-protection tools. Workplace accident happened at this area around 2012-2017 caused 1 victim died. Based on the observation result and the study conducted, it can be concluded that the workplace health and safety at PT Arga Wastu is appropriate though it is not maximum. There are some items which must be fixed particularly in the area where there are unsafe work condition and acts, treat and improve the performance of K3 management, conducting socialization and training for workers with the low educational background.
