Abstract
The rapid development of information technology in the era of globalization requires a courier company (logistics) to be able to take advantage of these technologies in support of business strategies that can ensure the continuity of business that is run now or in the future. The development of smartphones every year is very rapid with the emergence of companies that produce and continue to develop products towards the more sophisticated with GPS technology (Global Positioning System) and SIG (Geographic Information System) and Google Maps. PT. Synergy First Logistics is a Logistic Solution Company and Courier Service Provider, a freight forwarding service and domestic documents spread over 50 major cities in Indonesia. PT. Synergy First Logistics Yogyakarta branch located at East Road Ring Road 30 A, Wonocatur, Banguntapan Bantul, Yogyakarta. Transactions of daily and large quantities of incoming and daily goods are delivered, by the year 2016 the average daily receives 1.5 tonnes of goods to be distributed to cities in the Central Java region. One of the most important factors in the freight forwarding business is customer satisfaction, such as timeliness and delivery destination. At present the company has a fleet of 1 unit of cargo truck, 4 units of cargo car and 6 motor units. In day-to-day operations management has difficulty in monitoring the movement of the courier to distribute the shipment. This affects the speed and timeliness of distribution, distribution line efficiency, distribution vehicle optimization and other factors such as route irregularities as well as distribution safety factors. With the development of monitoring application of goods distributors courier movement expected management, especially the transportation department can perform distribution planning better, more efficient, more timely and ultimately can improve the service to customers.
