Abstract
The widespread and scattered public presence with various characteristics have to be solved by intense communication through mass media. It causes the need of media relations activities higher even though many institutions didn’t understand the principles and techniques such as Rumah Zakat (RZ) Yogyakarta. The research questions how media relations and how social marketing strategies are applied in RZ solved by using qualitative research. In conclusion, RZ has many important events but hasn’t submitted into mass media. Relawan and Relawan Inspirasi of Rumah Zakat has been accustomed to rewriting their information but not yet worthy to be published in the media as a news.
