Abstract
The Disaster Management Agency of Yogyakartan Province (BPBD DIY) is an institutionin in Yogyakarta's provincial government that overcomes disaster problems in Yogyakarta. This agency was established in 2010. BPBD DIY ranks 2 , from 1-3 scale, for its work performance. This position has been held by BPBD DIY from 2013 up to now. This survey uses 'path analysist' to determine the connection of such variables thav give direct and indirect effects. The survey shows each variable supports the model hypothesis that have been earlier. There are four types of hypothesis that give positive values and are significant to their dependent variables. The result is transformational leadership is very positive and significant for motivating the employees and their performance. Then the work motivation also has a positive effect on the performance of employees. And transformational leadership have a significant positive effect on employee performance that is mediated by work motivation. The survey also suggests that the intellectual stimuli of the transformational leadership need to be improved. That the leader should give opportunities to his subordinates to give their opinions and prove their capabilities is necessary. Kata kunci : kepemimpinan tranformasional, motivasi dan kinerja pegawai.
