Abstract
Study the use of maize as a marker of life on the insertion of long beans with corn have been conducted and aims to determine the time of insertion of long beans and equity ratio of the highest land on the outcome of intercropping. Research conducted at Faculty of Agriculture UPN “Veteran” Yogyakarta. Research using pot experiment arranged in a completely randomized design were repeated 4 times repetition. The treatment consisted of 6 treatment, ie 4 treatment intercropping and monoculture plus 2 treatment that include : S1= long beans inserted in maize aged 40 hst, S2= long beans inserted in maize aged 50 hst, S3= long beans inserted in maize aged 60 hst, S4= long beans inserted in maize aged 70 hst, M1= monoculture corn, and M2= monoculture beans with a trellis. The results showed that the best time of planting beans is when the corn plants have aged 50 hst. Insertion beans on corn land equality ratio is 2.07. Keywords : time inserts, beans and maize
