Abstract

Ministry of Agriculture in 2011 has set a production target of 70.6 million tonnes of rice paddy and the President dated October 19, 2011 expects that rice production in the country should be able to provide a surplus of 10 M tonnes of rice in 2014, was faced with the reality in the field that the quality of environment decline and climate change. Fertilization by farmers that are not offset by organic fertilizer, though this kind of situation will reduce physical, chemical, and biological soil properties affecting soil fertility decline. The use of pesticides that do not pay attention to keep the environment permanently will cause affect the pest population increases that will reduce population. The intensification of agricultural tends to monoculture agriculture is against to the theory of diversity that have high biodiversity significance is environmentally sound. Global climate change will affect the climate and natural components that are closely related to agriculture, namely, rising temperatures also impact on other climate elements, especially moisture and atmospheric dynamics, changing rainfall patterns and the increasing intensity of extreme climate events. With the above description is necessary to make strategy dealing with quality environmental decline and climate change. Keywords : strategy, environment, and climate
