Abstract

ABSTRACT In today's global economy of micro, small and medium enterprises (UMKM) are required to make changes to improve its competitiveness. Development of UMKM in Indonesia are many problems, among others: market access and marketing issues caused product development and quality of human resources (business factors) as well as non-bankable business. One key to the success of micro, small and medium enterprises is the availability of a clear market for the products of UMKM. While it's fundamental weaknesses facing UMKM in the field of marketing is a low market orientation, weak in the complex of competition and insufficient marketing infrastructure. Faced with an increasingly open market mechanisms and competitive, market control is a prerequisite to improve competitiveness. This paper aims to examine the alternative of an additional program in order to improve competitiveness and business development through the promotion of UMKM, access to factors of production information, conduct business transactions, and conduct other business communications globally, in order to improve competitiveness and expand its business network. Key words: Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, competitiveness, market access,development program.
