Abstract
This research aims to examine the impact of mergers in capital structure or banking sector ownership from capital aspect which counted with Capital Adequity Ratio (CAR) empirically. Capital Adequity Ratio (CAR) is capital adequacy which indicates bank capability in capital maintaining sufficient and bank capability management in risks control which takes effect in bank capital. This research is conducted using window periods in two years before occurrence and two years after occurrence. It’s conducted using Wilcoxon test for examining its hypothesis to find out is banking on after merger CAR greater than before merger CAR. The result indicates that there’s a significant difference. The interesting case is amount of CAR is apparently opposite with its hypothesis. This difference happens because after merger CAR is smaller than before merger CAR. It's happened because the six banks who did its merger have CAR amount after its declining merger.
