Abstract

Directions spread of acid mine drainage is follow the direction of the river around the mine and have a spacious of spread at the site of research 73515.7236 m2 or 7.35 Ha. The result of the limestone calculation of required amount (calcium carbonate) to neutralize the acid mine drainage with a total volume of 4,140.47 m3/hour is 19,528 kg/day. The use of limestone is very good as a neutralizing agent to reduce the acidity of the water and neutralize heavy metals contained in acid mine water. The cost required in carrying out the acid mine water treatment in the iron ore mining location and an area disturbed as big as 6.12 Ha is US $ 8,658 or Rp. 112,554,075. Settling Pond in the mining location of PT Putera Bara Mitra using overflow methods. The implementation of the waste management system of sulfide minerals are in accordance with the characteristics of the study area. This system was the encapsulation and layering model of in-pit disposal. Dimensions of mine drainage 1) the depth of the channel (d)= 3,43 m. 2) The width of the base channel (b)= 4,53 m. 3) The width of the upper channel (t)=4,62 m. 4) The slope of the channel wall = 89o. intensity of rain fall in the study area is big, as big as 22,30 mm/hour. Catchment area is a pit floor (pit floor and bench). This can reduce the amount of water runoff on the surface, so it has a runoff coefficient of the most moderate, as big as 0.75. Based on the research result obtainable the number of pumps required as much as 1,55=2 unit of pump
