Abstract

ABSTRACT Green Revolution causes negative impacts. There are problems of decreasing soil fertility mainly declining organic matter contents, leveling of production and decreasing grain rice quality, that was induce negative effect to eating quality. Organic farming method influence on increasing of soil fertility and changing of amylosa and amylopectin content. The aim of the research was to study the effect of legume and combining organic-inorganic fertilizer to the yields and rice quality. The experiment was conducted in Sragen at planting time July 2005 – July 2006. The experiment was used Split-plot Design and three replications. Main plot was residual from legume and rice in the first experiment with 3 three treatments: 1) straw-rice, 2) peanuts and 3) soybean. Sub plot was combining organic and inorganic NPK fertilizer in the second experiment with the following seventh treatments: 1) combining organic fertilizer and inorganic recommended rate NPK, 2) combining organic fertilizer and inorganic optimum rate NPK, 3) combining organic fertilizer and inorganic farmer rate NPK, 4) only inorganic recommended rate NPK, 5) only inorganic optimum rate NPK, 6) only inorganic farmer rate NPK, 7) with no fertilizer. Result of the experiment showed that residual of legume significantly increase the number of grains per panicle, weight of grains per hill, plot and per hectare. Organic fertilizer significantly increased the number of tillers, number and length of panicle. Organic fertilizer substituted 30 % of NPK. Organic fertilizer effect to increase amylopectin contains, beside that without organic fertilizer has higher amylosa contains. Key words : legume, organic and inorganic fertilizer, amylosa, and amylopectin
