Abstract

This research attempts to analyze the following aspects: 1) the relationship between the economic growth and transformation process of the economy structure of Bali Propince, 2) the factors that influence the transformation of the economic structure, 3) the impact of regional economic growth to the labor of absorption in each sector of the economy, and 4) the transformation pattern of the economic structure of Bali Province. The data used in this research is a panel data consisting of data from 9 regencies in Bali Province within 1985 - 2013, analyzed using the panel data regression model. This research results are in the following findings: 1) There is a correlation between the regional economic growth and the transformation process of the economic structure of Bali Province. It means that when the economy of Bali improved, the role of the secondary and tertiary sectors will increase; 2) The decrease of the role of the primary sector to the GDP of Bali Province is influenced significantly by the variables of per capita GDP, the number of population, the ratio of investement to GDP, the expenses of the local government, tri hita karana culture, and the characteristic differences of regencies/municipalities (dummy) economic structure in Bali Province; 3) On the other hand, per capita GDP, the number of population, the ratio of investement to GDP, the expenses of the local government, tri hita karana culture, and the characteristic differences of regencies/municipalities (dummy) economic structure have a positive and significant impact on the increase of the secondary and tertiary sectors in Bali Province.
