Abstract
Merapi volcano is an active volcano, is located at the most southernmost of Merapi - Merbabu - Suropati - Telomoyo - Ungaran's lineament They are in the middle of Central Java During eruptions from 1786 until 2001 direction of eruption point always changed. The history of Merapi eruptions since 17 centuries, at least 80 times the volcanoes had erupted and destroyed in around. The high disaster eruptions, such as in 1672, 1822, 1832, 1872, 1930 and 1994 was unforgetable,because the evidence had a lot of victims and destroyed their village. However, the event doesn't make the society in around the volcano willing to leave their village. Because they are close with culture as hereditary, and love to source of livelihood, although disaster threaten them and properties from time to time. A lot of heritage had buried caused of eruptions as watch an event to the past and education for next generation. A part of heritage is exposed to surface caused of excavating.
