Abstract
Musik adalah sebuah karya seni yang universal, musik merupakan sebuah cara untuk berkomunikasi dan berinteraksi antar makhluk hidup, karena musik adalah suatu cara dan tempat untuk mengekspresikan perasaan melalui lirik dan nada yang tertata dengan baik sehingga terciptalah lagu yang sarat akan pesan dan makna, musik selalu berkembang dan selalu memunculkan hal - hal yang baru. Dengan musik semua hal yang tidak mungkin bisa terjadi, karena musik adalah sebuah hal yang tidak akan pernah hilang dan akan terus ada dan berkembang sesuai perkembangan zaman yang ada. Skripsi ini membahas nilai moral dan sosial yang terkandung dalam lagu Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds karya The Beatles yang terdapat pada album Sgt Pepper’s Lonely Heart Club Band. Pada Tahun 1966 di Inggris ketika itu tahun ini sangat terkenal dengan sebutan Summer of Love, munculnya kaum Hippies dan terjadinya counter culture. Peredaran obat-obatan terlarang meraja lela dikalangan masyarakat, struktur masyarakat yang belum baik pasca perang dunia kedua. Album Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Heart Club Band berdasarkan majalah Rolling Stone merupakan album rock abad ini. Di Inggris sendiri pada saat keluarnya album ini, lagu Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds timbul polemic karena lekatnya makna lagu ini dengan penggunaan obat-obat terlarang. Obat-obatan yang dimaksud adalah LSD, yang entah disengaja atau tidak memiliki singkatan yang sama dengan judul lagu ini. Lagu ini sempat di larang di putar oleh radio BBC karena dinilai erat dengan kaitannya dengan pemakaian obat-obatan terlarang. Metode yang digunakan adalah kualitatif interpretatif dengan metode pengumpulan data menggunakan cara wawancara. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah makna tentang lagu dari The Beatles yang secara tidak langsung terpengaruh oleh obat-obatan terlarang jenis LSD. Pengaruh dari obat-obatan yang secara tidak langsung mempengaruhi kreativitas personil The Beatles. Music is an Universal Art, music is one of the way how to communicate and interact to each other. Music is a way to express a feeling, with lyrical and notes so whole things mixed up into a song. Music always develop, spread, and creatingwhole new experiences. With music impossible is possible, because music I something that will never disappear, lost, or vanish and it will keep developingbase on its times. Thesis is about to discuss one of The Beatles song from Sgt Pepper Lonely Heart Club Band which is Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds. In the 1966, British and almost all over the world there’s something that they called Summer of Love, The Hippies, and all of the counter culture happened. Drugs become quite popular that time. Community structure was not good since post world war II. According to Rolling Stone Magazine, Sgt Pepper’s Lonely Heart Club Band is the most rock album in this century. When this album released back in 1968 there was a lot of controversial happened. Because there were polemicsaround, since drugs seems a day life stuff. It called LSD which is similar to Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds in short called LSD. BBC banned this song and will not broadcasted this song because this polemics. Using Interpretative qualitative approach for data gathering method with interview. The result of this thesis is the point of the Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds lyric with the use of the LSD type of drugs that The Beatles was using.
