Abstract
This research aims to find out empirical evidence about the impact of six banks merged in Indonesia based on their Capital Adequacy Ratio (CARs). CAR is one of quantitave indicators which represents bank capacity in maintaining their capital and rik control. The method used is quantitative approach, that is financial ratio.This study attempts to explore whether the merger of these six banks has an implication to their CARs. There is a significant difference on their CARs between before and after the merger was done. This study found that merger of banks could decrease their CARs. This situation is not in line with other previous researches.
